The vibrancy of BTS’s comeback is at its zenith as we inch closer to the release date. It's the time when ARMY is buzzing with excitement, relishing in the discussions of upcoming content and concepts. So without digressing further, let's catch up on all that!
BE Concept Goes On
Concept photos and clips curated by SUGA and j-hope were posted on November 7 and November 8 respectively. While SUGA's concept of different hues of blue focuses on the color's diverse interpretations, j-hope's bright and colorful concept pivots around his unique style and identity.
On November 9, a concept clip (room version) and BE (Deluxe Edition) preview were posted. The clip is an almost 5 minute split-screen video of each member moving around his curated room. On November 11, the tracklist was released; it features eight tracks, including a skit and Dynamite. The credits for Life Goes On were revealed on D-7, which includes RM, SUGA, and j-hope as songwriters.
On Socials and News
On November 7, j-hope tweeted a mirror selfie with the caption “winter preparation is done” while V posted a picture of himself on Weverse. It was also announced that BTS will appear on a Pdogg focused episode of “Immortal Songs: Singing The Legend.” The day also marked two years since the Airplane Pt.2 MV release. On November 9, RM posted a sweet selfie on Weverse.
On November 10, “BTS 2021 Season's greetings” DVD content along with preview and pictures were revealed. More previews were posted throughout the week as ARMYs continued to express their enthusiasm for BTS’s retro concept. V posted an adorable photo of himself on Weverse, captioned “I'll make you laugh 🤣🤣(spoiler)”, putting a smile on our faces.
Episode 115 of Run BTS! was released where they wrapped up their video game battles with the pro gamers from the T1 team. Rolling Stone India finally put out their content with BTS, causing ARMY to praise the in-depth interview. Jimin went live on YouTube, talking about what he has been doing these days and said he hopes BE will be an album precious to us for a long time. BE is going to be a cultural reset and Jimin can count on it!
The announcement of “2021 New Year's Eve Live presented by Weverse” came as a pleasant surprise to the fans of various artists under Big Hit Labels including BTS. It will be a Big Hit family concert (online and offline), something we all have been waiting for.
Don't we all love it when RM shares his “Namjooning moments” with us? November 11 was such a day, as he posted a picture from his morning hike on Weverse.
Blueberry Eyes (feat. SUGA of BTS) [Steve Aoki Remix] MV came out on November 12. The same day, Arirang News covered RM's positive impact on the local art industry, and it was announced that BTS would be featured in the November issue of WSJ Magazine as they are the 2020 Music Innovator of the Year.Lastly, on Friday, SUGA tweeted a selfie with the caption “he he he,” and BTS was confirmed to appear on 2020 SBS Gayo Daejeon in Daegu on December 25.
Through Achievements and Awards
Mic Drop from Love Yourself: Answer was certified Silver in the UK, following Boy With Luv and Dynamite. Dynamite was certified Gold in Italy's FIMI chart, making it BTS's first certification in the country. It landed in Genie's Top 100 most streamed songs of all time and became the first song in history to surpass 1,500 hours at #1 on Melon. Filter and Epiphany surpassed 100M streams on Spotify, while eight certified Silver on Gaon. DOPE garnered 600M views. It is BTS's eighth song to achieve this, allowing them to be the only group in YouTube history to do so, and BANGTANTV reached 40M subscribers.
BTS swept MTV EMAs by winning awards in four major categories: Best Song (Dynamite), Best Virtual Live (“Bang Bang Con: The Live”), Best Group and Biggest Fans awards for three years in a row. Now for Billboard updates. Dynamite ranked #4 on Global 200 and #3 on Global excluding US charts. It also ranked #1 on Digital Song Sales Chart for the 10th week, becoming the only song to do so in 2020 and only the fifth song to achieve this. BTS remained at #1 on Social 50, extending their record to 204 weeks. BTS was also #4 on the Artist 100 chart.
