Suchwita Episodes 6 - 7
Note: Due to the nature of Suchwita, this blog mentions drinking and alcohol. Please take care while reading.
Our Monday blues went away as SUGA welcomed his new guests on the latest episodes of “Suchwita.” Episode 6 featured “Reborn Rich” actor Lee Sung Min, and episode 7 featured SUGA’s fellow BTS member, Jimin! Let’s see what went down in both episodes.
Episode 6 with Lee Sung Min
This episode features Lee Sung Min, known for his memorable supporting roles as an actor, which have significantly impacted the viewers’ minds. Besides his role in “Reborn Rich,” he has been in many well-known television shows and movies, such as “The Spy Gone North,” “Golden Time,” and “Misaeng: Incomplete Life.”
As he is not a good drinker, he brings coffee to the show instead. Both Lee Sung Min and SUGA hail from the city of Daegu, which helped them build a rapport on the show. The two stars talk about how they pursued their dreams in Daegu with only a wall between them – SUGA’s former high school is located right behind Lee Sung Min’s college. SUGA raves about all his movies, and how his acting was impeccable. Lee Sung Min goes on to talk about his days spent learning theater in Daegu. The duo continue to talk about their hardships in the industry and how they have materialized into success over time.
Upon being asked by Lee Sung Min what his favorite song is, SUGA says he doesn’t necessarily have a favorite, but there is one to which he has a great attachment. SUGA answers with the song Tomorrow by BTS, and says that it is the best song he’s written so far, having worked on it during high school as a trainee.
When SUGA asks his guest about his dreams, Lee Sung Min answers that all his wishes as an actor have been fulfilled. He now wishes for his daughter to grow up well and marry a good man. Lee Sung Min says he loved talking freely and didn’t have to “package” himself on the show. The episode ends on a sweet note as the actor signs his autograph on a tumbler (like every other guest so far) as a memento.
Episode 7 with Jimin
The second member to feature after RM, Jimin appears on the show to promote his new solo album FACE. He even brings a cake as a surprise for SUGA, whose birthday is in March. Jimin sticks to bringing soju – a distilled alcoholic drink made from fermented grains, which is widely popular in Korea.
The two members proceed to talk about Jimin’s album and how it took longer than expected for him to put everything together. SUGA comforts him by acknowledging that all of Jimin’s efforts are visible and reflected in the title track and the entire album, so there is no reason to feel anxious. After joking about how SUGA barely even got up to greet Jimin, whereas he politely greeted all his other guests, both members can’t help but laugh, as they have known each other for thirteen years.
Coming back to the album, Jimin breaks down the meaning of the title and how it encompasses his journey till now. He wanted it to mean that he is finally “facing myself,” so he titled it FACE. He mentions how he has included a hidden track, which is a song dedicated to ARMY, and they break down the struggles of producing a solo album for the first time.
After a brief listening party of the title track, Like Crazy, they switch to more lighthearted banter. They wonder what the future will be like for them and BTS, and they can’t help but look forward to it. It brings them back to the idea that, while solo activities are helping them grow as individuals, the team comes first for them, no matter what. The duo also talk about the ups and downs of songwriting, after which SUGA asks Jimin to act cute on his scheduled online fancall events (where fans call in and talk to Jimin remotely for a limited time), and they watch a fancall challenge done by Tomorrow X Together’s leader, Soobin.
The episode concludes with them praising and expressing their love for BTS, and how much they mean to each other. It was truly heartwarming to see Jimin call BTS a “family of a different blood.”
Each episode features special stories and funny anecdotes, which leave us with a bundle of laughs. We can’t wait for the next “Suchwita” episode!
